Velvet's butchery is a mock business concept I designed for a premium neighborhood butchery that breaks away from typical industry conventions. The challenge was to create a brand that feels artisan and sophisticated while remaining approachable to everyday customers seeking quality cuts.
The Design Challenge: I initially explored an interlocked VB monogram to create a distinctive mark, but feedback revealed legibility issues that led me to pivot toward a clearer solution. This iterative process taught me the importance of balancing aesthetic ambition with functional communication.
The Solution: The final logo features a refined cleaver icon paired with confident typography, immediately communicating both the craft and the business category. I developed a sophisticated color palette of deep burgundy and mustard gold that differentiates the brand from typical red-and-black butcher shop aesthetics, positioning Velvet's as a premium yet welcoming establishment.
Brand Application: The flexible logo system works across horizontal and compact formats, while, the complete brand identity extends to marketing materials that reinforce the 'artisan crafted' positioning. This company caters to both the local community and culinary enthusiast.
Dazzlestar is a small business specializing in hair, makeup and fashion. The client wanted a design that pops and would be timeless. I wanted to present the client with a product that is not only fun, energetic but edgy, I wanted to draw in a more youth audience but also still be to resonate with a more mature crowd. Making it welcoming to all who want to look their best and be unapologetic about it.
"We are a company that specializes in not only in recycling but up-cycling. We pride ourselves in finding those little gems that others find as "Trash" and turn them into our "Treasures". All of our materials are locally sourced and sustainable. We do our best to provide the best for our customers leaving them feeling Big, Bold and Beautiful! Our motto, "Up-cycle for uniqueness, recycle to reinvent."
Trash Pandas is a company that has truly evolved from a mere idea to a small but full business. This is the first logo I designed. I was a beginner then but I put as much heart, sweat and tears that I put into everyone one of my designs. This concept stemmed the raccoon itself. I wanted a design that had an urban feel. I wanted it to draw a crowd of urban artists, college and selftaught alike, but of course not forgetting those who just have a love for the trash panda themselves.
Trash Pandas kept growing and evolving to the point that she gained friends in the process to cater to an even broader crowd. Although the company is currently on hiatus, I can't wait for the future trajectory of this company and very happy to be apart of the journey.
